The FLIR i3 thermal imaging camera is one of the smallest - and most affordable - thermal cameras currently available on the market.
Designed with ease of use in mind, the FLIR i3 essentially allows you to ‘ point-shoot-detect’ at any area you need to gain thermal images from. The camera has been built purely as an excellent option for those coming into thermography for the first time, incorporating an easy-to-understand and intuitive interface that’ s usable by any thermal surveyors straight out of the box.
Whether you’ re testing electrical circuits of trying to detect faults in buildings and detect heat leakage, this thermal camera model includes a number of automatic sequences to make sure you know exactly how to capture the images you need.
It’ s worth noting that since this is an entry level thermal imaging camera, the pixel quality of the images is slightly lower than other models. It still captures quality 60 x 60px images, but this means that you’ ll have to take more than one image if working from further away compared to cameras with higher resolutions.
Despite being one of the cheapest thermal cameras available on the market today, the FLIR i3 can still detect a wide temperature range from -20° C to 250° C and can easily pinpoint temperature changes that are as low of 0.015° C. This means that the FLIR I3 can be used to easily determine the difference in temperature of practically any area, allowing you to detect heat leakage in buildings, electrical components outputting too much heat or detect any form of heat in countless other industries.
Despite being incredibly lightweight and weighing just 365g, the FLIR i3 is also built of rugged materials that are IP43 rated. It’ s also completely water and splash-proof and can survive up to a 2 metre drop without any damage – perfect for those accidents that can happen!
After gaining a thermal image, the FLIR i3 allows you to store up to 5000 different radiothermic JPEG images thanks to the supplied MicroSD card. This card can also be taken out and put into any computer with an SD card slot, allowing you to view your images on larger screens whenever you need to.
